my chinchilla screamsI was wondering if you could help me. During the night and sometimes during the day my chinchilla lets out a loud scream. I mean loud. I can't understand what it is. I always run over to him and check him. When I get there he looks normal and lets me pick him up. I don't understand. Can you please let me know. thanks

My Gruff does that often, day or night. You go and see him and he's absolutely fine, bouncing around and wanting a tickle.
It's an alert or warning call.
Chinchillas have a good sense of hearing and can be concerned over sounds that we would barely hear or take notice of. I don't think there's anything wrong with him. He's just over-reacting.
