Murphy

This is our gorgeous wee cocker spaniel Murphy he is 14 months old and been through a rough first year of his life. We have had him back and forward to the vets nearly weekly and Glasgow Vet school several times. We are so glad we stuck with it and the specialists at Glasgow vet school diagnosed him with Inflamed Bowel Disorder. This means he will be on medication for the rest of his life, but this is better than constantly being sick, having diahorea and being in lots of pain and a grumpy wee sod.

Now he is happy, healthy and a great wee puppy, very adoring and loving.

Anyway hope you think he is lovely, he is adored by us both.

awww he is so cute. Especially in that ones with the snow. He was having fun wasn't he? Shame about his bowel disorder. From looking at his pics he sure looks as though his treatment is working and he is enjoying life to the full now. Good to see he had great owners.

It's okay to add a link to a site where your pics are Steve. In fact it's often quicker than adding them to the message. We don't mind.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the kind words.

He is doing fantastic now, we are gradually reducing his dose of drugs and keeping him strictly on sensitivity food (which costs a fortune). We have got him down from 25mg a day to 10mg one day and 15mg the next. So fingers crossed we can get him down to 5mg this year.

Dont mention Black Cocker Spaniels Kim, Shell really wants one.

[color=darkblue:cc3757f1ed]Can Imagine your vet fees for special food Steve. My dog had diabetes and was on the special food with rice which at that time had to be bought from vet. That plus his daily insulin was high cost indeed.
Things is though, no matter what the cost it's worth it to see them stable isn't it?
Glad to hear Murphy is improving with all you and Shell's loving care.

say Hi to Shell.

how is he getting on?
Shell&Steve

Hi all,
He is getting along really well on his meds and is nothing but a wee fluffy bundle of slobbery kisses at the moment, a bit quieter than he use to be, that is the downside of his meds, he is too calm, can't get him to run and he barely wants to play. so we are obviously still trying to find the right balance for him. thanks all for your kind words and wishes.

yes the food costs a fortune!!! worth it though because he loves it.

We have updated and moved our site so the link above probably wont take you to his pics anymore, haven't uploaded the pics to the new site either, will find the time, promise

Hi there steve

Hi there steve

What a poor wee dog you are doing everything you can lots of people would not do this for a dog but you have proven that you are a top class person by keeping him as happy as you can he is a lovely dog and I hope he continues to get better. I have had a few problems in the past with my cat she kept on being sick took her to the vet and he said she was fine it could be that she has a senitive stomach we put her on the special food and she was still sick with it so i stopped it and gave her the food that pets and home sell and she was better with that than the other stuff she still is sick and I dont think we can stop that as she has been tested for everything and all comes back that she is fine at least you know whats wrong with the dog thast half the battle .
